Valentines’s
day is my favourite day of the year right behind Christmas eve, but I guess it
has to be as it’s my birthday.
I’m so glad to be able to celebrate my birthday
with my lovely ones and my future-husband. Every year its a great day and we have wonderful time together!
Yesterday we had a good brunch and I got a wonderful and surprising present: a
historical “Original Victoria” sewing machine
There is a
little history to it: Some weeks ago I saw this sewing machine in the internet offered
for sale and I wanted it so heavily. Unfortunately I was so overworked and had a long
to-do list, that I didn’t take the time to have a call with the seller. And
then it was sold!
Yesterday morning I got to know who bought it: my Dad!
The
condition is very good but it was very dirty and there was no belt there
anymore.
He cleaned
and varnished it and brought it to shine again! The belt he got on amazon very
cheap and as he’s very good with his hands it was quickly looking beautiful
again!
I already researched a little bit and now I know these machines were produced in Magdeburg, Germany. The Company called Mundlos&Schulz was founded in 1863 and Heinrich Mundlos was one of the founder and there also machines called "Mundlos"
But the "Mundlos" machines aren't as beautiful as this, they are more simple in their optic, the stand is very plain and there is no inlaying at the tabletop.
